Music is Therapy
Sep 16, 2026
If you're anything like me, then you love music. Music helps you express how you feel when you can't put it into words yourself. It's like a best friend you can always depend on; music is comforting and sometimes therapy. Music has seen me naked, no filter, taken care of me when no one else could. Many highs, many lows, a lot of happy times and a lot of sad times; through it all, music has kept me. You carried me like a baby and fed my soul when I was hungry.
When love fell short, you became a bridge. When grief struck, you were a shield. When I needed to be uplifted, you gave me joy. You even made me dance from time to time. We've cried together and laughed together. We watched each other grow through the years, even with all the changes we've been through. You remained true.
When I think of music as therapy, I think of songs like. Alright by Kendrick Lamar, Brotha by Angie Stone, Long Way from Home by ROI Anthony, Cranes in the Sky by Solange, Love Yourz by J. Cole, and Slow Motion by Karina Pasian (Bounce Version), to name a few. Music that hugs the heart and heals the soul. Music is the heartbeat of the world.
